Sweater weather is here, and we are ready to cozy up by the fire with a bottle of delicious Sterling wine. As the fall air cools and crisps, it's the perfect time to host a fireplace and wine night with some of your favorite people. This guide will give you our best tips and perfect wines for hosting the warmest gathering in town.

What You'll Need
- Fireplace or fire pit
- Chairs or floor pillows
- Pillows and blankets
- Marshmallows
- Hershey chocolate bars
- Graham crackers
- Roasting sticks
- Wine opener
- Wine glasses
- Sterling wine
Light the Fireplace
The fire itself is the main event, so you will want to be prepared when it comes to what you will need to light your fire pit or fireplace. Make sure you have ample seating for your guests surrounding the fire.
Make it Cozy
Once your seats are arranged, make them cozy by adding pillows and blankets. We added additional blankets into baskets for when the sun is fully set, and the temperatures drop.
Create a S'mores Bar
S'mores are a campfire staple dessert featuring toasted marshmallows and melted chocolate wedged between two graham cracker halves. If you want to try something new, replace the Hershey chocolate with Reese's, Crunch bars, or even Butterfingers.
Pour the Wine
Last but definitely not least, warm up your guests with a nice glass of Sterling wine. A medium to full-bodied red is a great pairing for a warm fire and great conversation. The Sterling Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is full of flavor and will pair nicely with the chocolate in the S'more, it's an easy-to-drink wine that everyone is going to like. White wine works fireside as well, the Sterling Carneros Chardonnay is cool and crisp like the night air.

Shine Brighter Together
Here are a few reasons why spending time around the fireplace is a great idea.
- One of the most soothing sounds is the crackling that fire makes, it can be calming and relaxing to sit in your own home and listen to the fire while reading a book.
- They can be romantic. A fireplace reminds us of a time when life was simpler and can be a great setting for an anniversary or date night.
- A fire brings the family together. It provides the perfect setting for parents, kids, extended family, and friends to connect by talking, playing board games, or watching a movie.
