What is Galentine's Day?

Galentine's Day is recognized on February 13th - the day before Valentine's Day. While the holiday can look different for everyone, the whole idea behind Galentine's Day is to celebrate the connection you have with your friends, whether they're single or not. It's sort of like Friendsgiving in the sense that you all get together and celebrate your friendship. Consider this as an opportunity to shine brighter together this year by creating a simple, mouth-watering dessert board to enjoy with Sterling wines and your closest friends.

Create a Galentine's Dessert Board

Think charcuterie board, but with only delectable desserts. There is no shortage of ideas for what to add to your Galentine's dessert board. The best thing about a dessert board is that you can easily mix-and-match ingredients. If chocolate and cheese don't already scream Galentine's Day, add in bite-sized candies and cookies that your guests can easily grab and enjoy.

Assemble Your Board

  1. Choose the board. The size depends on how many friends you are serving. You can always have multiple boards or even lay out craft paper on your kitchen island or table to create a grazing board.
  2. Start with the cheese. Place the different cheeses around your board and spread them out in different places if you use more than one.
  3. Make space for your fresh fruit and cookies, these tend to be the bulkiest items, so you want to make sure you have enough room on the board.
  4. Add a bowl of sweets or a delicious dip for your fresh fruit.
  5. Fill in the gaps with savory and sweet items. Pile high. Don't be afraid to pile your items so you don't have to refill them throughout the evening.
