The Women of Sterling Vineyards

The Women of Sterling Vineyards

International Women’s Day is a moment to reflect on leadership, progress, and the women shaping industries across the world. At Sterling Vineyards, we’re proud to honor the women whose creativity, dedication, and expertise are woven into every bottle we craft and every guest experience we host.

From winemaking to hospitality and culinary innovation, their work defines the Sterling Standard — grounded in excellence, collaboration, and a welcoming spirit.

International Women’s Day is an important reflection of how far we have come as women, and it is an honor to find myself in the company of so many accomplished women in wine.
Lauren Kopit, Winemaker

Lauren Kopit

Winemaker

Lauren Kopit has been crafting wines for nearly two decades, blending sharp technical skill with a real feel for Napa Valley fruit. After earning her BS in Microbiology from UC Davis in 2009, she launched her career through harvest lab roles at Franciscan and Matchbook, then returned to UC Davis for her MS in Viticulture and Enology. Post graduation, she sharpened her cellar experience across two more harvests at Odette Estate Winery and New Zealand’s Church Road Winery before joining Sterling Vineyards in 2014.

Today, as winemaker, Lauren leads Sterling’s portfolio with a clear point of view: wines with structure, balance, and approachability that still speak to where they are grown. Her collaborative style and commitment to quality help shape each vintage and keep Sterling moving forwar

Patricia Torres

Assistant Hospitality Manager

Patricia’s favorite: Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Perfect pairing: Carne Asada

With nearly three decades at Sterling, Patricia represents the legacy and continuity that define the winery. Her experience, mentorship, and passion for hospitality continue to shape the welcoming spirit guests feel every day.

Working at Sterling Vineyards for the past 27 years has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I've gained a wealth of knowledge and been mentored by some truly remarkable individuals in the industry. Sterling's continuous evolution and growth have always been a source of enjoyment for me. There is truly never a dull day at Sterling Vineyards.

With its distinctive structure, layered dark fruit, and powerful texture, Diamond Mountain Cabernet is a natural match for the bold, savory flavors of carne asada. The wine’s depth stands up beautifully to char and spice, creating a pairing that feels both vibrant and grounded.

Jessica Main

Assistant Hospitality Manager, Culinary & Events

Jessica’s current pick: 2019 Clairmore Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Perfect pairing: Peking Duck

The plum notes in the hoisin sauce echo the wine’s dark fruit character, creating a seamless, layered pairing that feels both indulgent and balanced.

I oversee the Culinary and Public Events program at Sterling Vineyards, where I get to dream up and bring to life experiences like our Día de los Muertos festival and Sterling Smokehouse – a luxury Napa Valley BBQ event. My management style for our on-site culinary team is to keep the kitchen collaborative, creative, and fun, making sure everyone has a voice in shaping our food and wine pairings. After almost three years, what I love most is the team culture we’ve built together since reopening — it really feels like something special.

Jessica’s work ensures that every culinary touchpoint at Sterling feels intentional, elevated, and welcoming.

Megan Denvir

Assistant Hospitality Manager

Megan’s go-to: 2021 Red Blend
Perfect pairing: Dijon roast chicken with grilled asparagus and mashed red potatoes

Classic comfort meets structure. The savory herbs and roasted flavors complement the blend’s depth without overwhelming its balance.

I have been working here since April 2024. I started as the Welcome Center Manager and then stepped into managing the Tourway in June 2024. I love the team that has been built at Sterling Vineyards. I am proud to be able to mentor and grow newcomers in the wine industry and bring together an amazing hospitality team.

Megan’s leadership helps shape the guest journey, ensuring that every visit reflects Sterling’s welcoming spirit.
