The Mimosa Bar Perfected

Shine Brighter Together with our tips and inspiration for creating your dream mimosa bar.

There’s no better way to start a Saturday or Sunday than with a mimosa—especially if it’s made with a Sterling Vineyards sparkling wine. You can’t help but be in a good mood when you hear that cork pop and you get to choose a fresh juice or fruit garnish to make a drink that’s totally your own. It’s hard to go wrong with mimosas, but there are a few ways to really get it right. Read on for tips for setting up your own perfect mimosa bar.

Mimosa Basics

The classic mimosa with orange juice and dry sparkling is delicious, but the whole idea of a mimosa bar is to let your guests get creative. So, assemble a few types of sparkling and rosé wine and a variety of juices and fresh fruit garnishes. Don’t shy away from more unique juice flavors. We love cranberry and orange for the traditionalists and mango or pineapple for those who want something a little different. You don’t want ice in your drinks, so make sure to keep the wines chilled in the fridge and use an ice bucket if you have one on hand.

Flavor Inspiration

If you’re stuck on what kinds of flavors pair well together, try a few of the below.

  • Pear juice and Sterling Vineyards Sparkling Blanc de Blancs
  • Cranberry and Sterling Vineyards Rosé of Syrah
  • Classic Orange Juice and Sterling Vineyards Sparkling Brut
  • Grapefruit with strawberry garnish and Sterling Vineyards Rosé of Syrah
  • Pineapple Orange with pineapple chunks and Sparkling Blanc de Blancs
  • Cranberry Orange with raspberries and Sterling Vineyards Rosé of Syrah

Serving Tips

Make sure to set up your bar where there is space for your guests to move around and pour their drinks. We love clear carafes for the juices and simple small bowls for the fruit garnishes. Small, handwritten labels for the fruits and juices can be a lovely touch. You could even write out the suggested pairings above if you want to get everyone inspired. We love to use traditional wine or coupe glasses to hold the fruit garnishes, but if you’ve been looking for an excuse to pull out your champagne flutes this is your moment. Now all that’s left is to pop that cork and enjoy!
