Vintage 2013

Yates Family Vineyard, family owned and meticulously farmed for generations, produces wines with great character and expression of the Mount Veeder appellation. The vines are planted on steep hillside volcanic soils at an elevation over 1,100 feet in the Mayacamas Mountains. This location produces grapes with intense fruit flavors, depth, and complexity. The 2013 Cabernet features aromas and flavors of dark blackberry and plum, confectionery caramel and vanilla barrel notes, and finishes with plush balanced tannins.

Vintage 2014

The 2014 Yates Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a densely colored and intensely flavored wine with the hallmark features of mountain fruit. Aromas of dark blackberry, wild berry patch and ripe plum are pronounced on the nose and ring true on the palate. The barrel notes of caramel toast add intrigue to the juicy fruit core. The hillside fruit is reflected in the intense flavor and significant yet ripe and well-integrated tannin structure. The wine is well-balanced with bright fruit, smooth tannins and good acidity.

Vintage 2015

Mt. Veeder is known for producing fruit with intense tannins that result in age-worthy wines of distinction, and this vintage follows that pattern. Working closely with the Yates family, the vineyard is picked several times to select only fruit that has reached optimal ripeness and maturity of flavor. Bright red fruit led by wild mountain raspberry and bright cherry pie sit alongside some black pepper and darker fruits including blackberry framed with cocoa powder, oak spice, vanilla and caramel from the new oak. The fine tannins give way to a wine with great structure and balance, solid acidity and a vibrant finish that lingers.
